Florida Lifestyle Homes building a tradition of success

For the second year in a row, the Lee County Building Industry Association awarded Florida Lifestyle Homes the Superior Home Award for its newest model at Quail West, a trophy the builder says is confirmation of the company’s history of innovation.

‘Our team spends a great deal of time doing research before we begin each model, exploring new products, interviewing our clients and reviewing the details of the design,’ said Bill Ennen, president of Florida Lifestyle Homes. ‘Our goal is to present a home that illustrates the fine craftsmanship our company provides and the best materials available with a focus that appeals to the way people want to live. We see each model as a showcase of our teamwork and skills.’

A four-bedroom design with four and one-half baths plus a study, St. Bridget, this year’s winning model, employs a romantic European-themed exterior with stylish cathedral windows. The home encompasses 3,877 square feet of air-conditioned living space. The St. Bridget totals 6,438 square feet with a covered entry, expansive outdoor living areas along with a three-car garage.

Awards, such as the Superior Home Award earned by St. Bridget indicate that the strategy is successful, Ennen said. The home also earned awards for its Interior Design and Pool Design. Last year, the company’s Antilles model also garnered the Superior Home Award in its price category as well as a number of other awards.

‘The awards reflect the fact that professionals in this business, as well as the general public, recognize the creativity, attention to detail and quality we build in each home,’ he added.

The St. Bridget’s spectacular pool – the centerpiece of the outdoor living area – also earned an award. From the great room, the back wall of pocketing glass doors opens and simply disappears to reveal the pool bordered by a long elevated spillover accented with six sparkling fountains and a raised sunning deck with a fire pit.

‘This is a very dramatic feature that gives the home a resort feel,’ said Denise Ogden, consultant with Florida Lifestyle Homes. ‘The 1,420-square-foot lanai with its outdoor kitchen, dining space and outdoor fireplace fulfills buyers’ vision of the Florida lifestyle.’

Attention to detail is evident throughout the home, earning St Bridget another award for interior design.

One of the very original features in the St. Bridget is the great room wall, unique with decorative wood bordered trim and floating shelves, both with accent lighting.

‘This is an exquisite feature that is elegant, unique, trend-setting and simple without setting limits on televisions size – all at the same time,’ noted Ogden. ‘It is a work of art that also fills the entertainment needs of the homeowner.’

The kitchen of the St. Bridget also includes special features. It has a double island and dual sinks, providing generous prep space for the serious cook. The kitchen is complete with Thermador appliances and a custom-designed butlers’ pantry, both with quartz countertops.

‘The materials used in this kitchen are sleek and give homeowners what they want by hitting all points of low-maintenance, attractive, eye-catching and durable – and they have a healthier nonporous surface for food preparation that is NSF-13 certified,’ Ogden said. ‘The countertops are finished in the new Cambria Britannica quartz and have received an overwhelming amount of positive attention..’

Extensive details in the ceilings illustrate fine craftsmanship, accentuating a tradition found in Golden Age European homes. The great room features a centerpiece of suspended beams, the kitchen includes a trey ceiling with wood stained beams, and there is a double trey ceiling in the dining room. A barrel coffered ceiling crowns the study, a groin-vaulted ceiling tops the guest hall and a dome ceiling accents the powder room.

‘We’re pleased that our work on the St. Bridget has been recognized by our peers in the industry,’ Ennen said. ‘St. Bridget set a new standard, and we are already at work on next year’s model, planning set a new benchmark for Florida home building.’

The St. Bridget is priced at $1.945 million that includes furnishings and decor.
